Juan, his right-hand in Levels 1 and 2, is one of Chicago’s rising Salsa stars. Known for his explosive solo work and approachable vibe, he’s equally skilled at leading, following, and supporting students on their journey.

Ethan Lassiter & Janet Saldana
Ethan is our team captain and one of the smoothest leads in the city. With years of Mayambo training under his belt, he’s a technician and a natural teacher, making advanced material feel accessible and rewarding.
Janet is a principal dancer with a reputation for clean, expressive movement and laser-sharp technique. Her teaching style is warm, clear, and full of the kind of details that elevate your dancing fast.

Del returns at the advanced level to share his deep knowledge of Salsa On2, drawing from his time with the legendary Descarga Caribe and 20+ years of stage, studio, and street experience.
Sam is co-director of Mayambo and Pa’lante, and one of the most elegant and dynamic dancers in Chicago. Her background in Ballet, Jazz, and African movement gives her a unique edge — and her ability to break down even the most nuanced technique makes her a student favorite.

📋 FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
We like to keep things simple, clear, and respectful. When you join the Mayambo Membership, here’s what you’re agreeing to:
▶️START DATE
Membership always begins at the start of the month.
You can sign up after the 20th of any month to begin the following month.
No mid-month sign-ups — we want you there from day one.
▶️COMMITMENT
This is a 6-month agreement, billed monthly.
No cancellations once you’re enrolled. If you cancel early, the remaining balance is still due.
Exceptions may be made for serious injuries. We absolutely care about your well-being.
▶️ WHAT HAPPENS AFTER 6 MONTHS
Your membership will end automatically after 6 months.
If you’d like to continue, you’ll need to re-enroll — we’ll send a friendly reminder via SMS when the time comes.
▶️REFUNDS
Membership payments are non-refundable, even if you miss classes.
You’re responsible for showing up and making the most of your training.
▶️CLASS ACCESS
You can attend all weekly classes you’ve been approved for, including lower-level intensives and drop-in classes.
This works great for students in Level 3 or higher who want to polish their basics — or for committed beginners who want more time on fundamentals.
Brand new students are not eligible for membership until they’re cleared for more than one level. We want to make sure you’re ready to take full advantage of the program.

We expect members to show up consistently.
If you’re taking up a spot, we want you training. For your benefit and the community’s.
No credits or makeups for missed weeks.
HOW LONG IS THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITMENT?
The Mayambo Membership is a six-month agreement. This allows you to train consistently, make real progress, and lock in your rate while you grow. After six months, you can choose to continue month-to-month or renew your commitment.
WHY SIX MONTHS? WHY NOT MONTH-TO-MONTH?
Because growth takes time. We’ve seen over and over that students who commit for the long haul make the most progress. A six-month runway gives you the consistency to actually level up and it gives us the chance to support you fully.
CAN I PAUSE OR CANCEL IF SOMETHING COMES UP?
We understand life happens. While this membership is built for consistency, we’ll work with you if a true emergency arises. Just contact us directly we’re real people, and we care about our students.
CAN I SHARE MY MEMBERSHIP WITH A FRIEND OR PARTNER?
Nope. Membership is non-transferable and only valid for the person who signs up. But if you both want to join, we’d love to welcome you both in.
WHAT IF I’M NOT SURE I’M READY?
If you’re asking this question, you’re probably more ready than you think. And if you’re truly not sure, we recommend starting with a regular 4-week session. If you fall in love with the process (most people do), you can upgrade to the membership and we’ll prorate the cost for you.
CAN I JUST PAY PER CLASS INSTEAD?
100% No. The membership is for dancers who are training consistently. If you prefer a casual drop-in, we only offer that for our most advanced class. This program is built for commitment and consistency because that’s where the real growth happens.
IS THIS REALLY WORTH IT IF I MISS A WEEK?
Yes. Even if you miss a class or two, you’re still getting more value than any standard session. The moment you attend more than one class a week, the membership pays for itself and you still get all the exclusive perks.
IS THE EXCLUSIVE MEMBER T-SHIRT REALLY ONLY FOR MEMBERS?
Yes. No exceptions. No online sales. No second printing. If you’re wearing the shirt, you earned it.

The membership is a six-month commitment and must be started at the beginning of a calendar month. No drop-ins or one-offs.
Come once, twice, or five times a week, it’s all included. Train as much as you want within your enrollment period.
Your training is personal. Memberships cannot be shared, paused, or carried over to a future month.
