If you’ve been with us in prior Salsa Intensive classes, then you know we work A LOT on preparing you to learn more advanced skills by drilling and repeating the basics over and over again until you feel great about your foundation. Now that your base is solid, you’re ready to learn some fun new material to expose you to fresh moves!
90 Minute Classes = 6 hours
Our Intermediate Salsa Intensive provides our students ample time to focus on details and repetition. We’ll also have plenty of time to address any questiosn that arise and focus on making sure all fo our students understand the material they are learning.

Mayambo
Hey there, Salsa superstar in the making! Get ready for a thrilling ride every week as we bring the heat in our awesome Mayambo ADV Intermediate Class! Let’s break it down for you so you know exactly what to expect.
To kick things off, we’ll spend the first 10 minutes getting you warmed up before doing drills and sharpening your technique, so you’ll be as sharp as a salsa-slicing knife!
Then, get ready for some serious footwork fun because a member of our incredible Mayambo Pro dance company will dazzle you with an exciting new combination. But here’s the twist: every week, we’ll switch up the teachers, so you’ll learn from a whole bunch of extraordinary dancers! Talk about a variety pack of salsa greatness!
After working up a sweat, we’ll take a quick breather before diving into partnerwork combinations. Del Dominguez or Ethan Lassiter will take the lead and guide you through the magic of dancing with a partner. And don’t worry, our amazing Mayambo and Pa’lante crew will be there too, offering feedback and helping you expand your skills like never before.

The ADV Intermediate Salsa Intensive Is A Great Class For You If:
- Taken at least 8 months of Salsa classes on2.
- You are comfortable with the timing of Salsa on2 and have a solid understanding of the building blocks of Salsa.
- You actively go out social dancing but want to improve.
- You want to feel more confident as you do solo work/shines.
- You want to continue to improve your technique as a lead and/or follow.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Is The Session?
This session is 4 weeks in total with special 90 minute classes which equal 6 classes! The extra time will help you retain the information you’re learning and provide ample time for questions and repetition.
What Kind Of Clothing Should I Wear?
We highly recommend you wear clothing that you feel comfortable in when you are actively moving. As for footwear, you should wear shoes that don’t have a sticky bottom and if you wear heels, please make sure they are dance heels that support your feet when you dance to avoid injury.
What Happens If I Miss A Class?
Unfortunately, as a small studio, we have a limited class offering, if you knwo you can’t make it to all of the classes, you’re abel to attend our ADV Intermediate class as a drop in for $30/class.
Do I Need To Come With A Partner?
If you and a your friends want to join us, then the more the merrier! Don’t worry though, if you sign up by yourself, rest assured that we will consistently rotate to ensure everyone gets a chance to dance, practice and have fun!
How Is The Parking?
There is free parking on the north side of North Ave as well as on the side streets adjacent to the studio. There is also metered parking directly in front of the studio. You won’t have trouble finding a place to park!
What Covid-19 Protocols Are In Place?
As announced in mid February, the City of Chicago will no longer require patrons to wear masks or provide proof of vaccination starting on February 28th. We respect everyone’s right to a comfortable and safe environment and support everyone’s individual decision on masking. We want to thank our students for their understanding and patience as we follow the city’s guidelines and stay in compliance with city ordinances.
As always, there will be plenty of hand sanitizer on hand for student use. We look forward to serving you in a safe and welcoming environment.
